2006 Ford Explorer

The 2006 Ford Explorer has taken on a brand new platform and redesigned template for the fourth generation, including updates to the suspension, exterior cosmetics, new interior, power-folding rear seats and more.

The engine choices have also been improved; the base model is the 4.0L V-6 with 210HP and 254FTLB of torque and buyers can now choose the 4.6L V-8 boasting an incredible 292HP and 300FTLB of torque from the Single-Over-Head-Cam design.

The 2006 Ford Explorer comes standard with a 5-speed automatic transmission for the base-line engine while the higher-end and more powerful 4.6L V-8 gets s sturdier 6-speed automatic; both models sit on 114” wheel-base tires and come in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive platforms providing great safety and security for all drivers.
